Note: As of March 2016, the Club has temporarily suspended holding monthly meetings. In place of these meetings, the club members have chosen to write short stories which demonstrate their preferred genre and writing skills. The best of these stories will be published as an anthology in paperback and e book formats. An in-depth description of this new direction and its marketing potential is found in the Club’s most recent post.

The Utah Book Writers Club was established in 2011, serving the book writers of the Salt Lake City Metro area.
The creation of the Club was the result of a conversation between David R. Christensen, author of three published books, and Bill Walker, an independent publisher located just outside Sacramento. David saw the need for and value in a club in Utah–a club designed and set up in such a way that it would reach beyond a need for writers and authors to simply meet and mingle. The objective of the Club is to support writers along their paths to publication and authors to successfully market their books.

The Club meets once a month. Anyone interested in the production of books is invited. This would include, but not be limited to: writers, editors, formatters, illustrators, publishers, etc.

UBWC meetings are held the second Thursday of each month, at 7pm at the home of David R Christensen.
